DHS Winter Guard & Percussion Ensemble Announce NESBA Competition Schedules

The award-winning DHS Winter Guard and Percussion Ensemble are preparing amazing shows for their upcoming NESBA Competition season. Their schedules are listed below. Be sure to catch one of their performances.

NHMEA Solo & Ensemble Festival at KSC

On February 14 a group of DHS musicians loaded the bus, packed the equipment truck, and headed to Keene State for the annual NHMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival. Students performed as soloists and in small groups, gaining experience in an audition and adjudication setting. The scores were amazing and everyone had a great day. Pictured above is the Select Choir, performing "Il Est Bel Et Bon."

FOOTLOOSE - The Musical - March 5, 6, 7, 8

The DHS Music Department and the DHS Drama Club will present FOOTLOOSE - THE MUSICAL on March 5, 6, 7 at 7 PM and March 8 at 2 PM. The show is a collaboration with the community theater group, The Garrison Players, and is packed with dancing, singing, romance, and good old-fashioned fun. All performances will be in the Walker Auditorium at Dover High School. Don't miss this great show!

NHMEA Jazz All-State Festival, Feb. 5-7, 2009

The NHMEA Jazz All-State Festival was held at Pinkerton Academy on February 5, 6, and 7. This event included workshops, lectures, rehearsals, and performances by students who were selected from statewide auditions. Congratulations to Laura Chong and Danny Symington, who represented DHS at the Festival.

NHMEA Chamber Music Festival at Timberlane HS

On Saturday, January 10, three DHS Music students traveled to Timberlane High School for the annual NHMEA Chamber Music Festival. Students who attended this event had earned the highest scores statewide at their NH All-State Auditions. At the Festival they rehearsed all day in small chamber ensembles and attended workshops and performances, and performed in an amazing concert that evening. Congratulations to Matthew Gregoire, Emily Harmon, and Maria Boudreau for being selected to attend this event! A DPMC high-five goes out to home-schooled violinist, Ellen Bergeron, who also represented Dover at the festival.
